Affect Engines

The Korsakow software which provides the tools and equipment by which to make and share a Korsakow film is a system for the production of affect, more specifically affect films. The role of such systems is not to make action or perception images but affect images. When viewing a Korsakow film I have no choice but to become a centre of indetermination between perception and action that must be accounted for within such interactive work. This indeterminacy, my role to look, notice, then act, can be left outside, at the door, in the cinema if it wants, but not here. As a consequence Korsakow films are poetic, associative, disjunctive. This is their milieu.
